Frequently Asked Questions

Here's some answers to the most common questions we get asked

What does an Amazon Prep Centre do?

We receive, prep and ship goods to Amazon on behalf of our members who have purchased those goods to be resold through Amazon FBA.

What happens after I send my goods to you?

How the process works is you will place your orders with the stores/suppliers you wish to purchase from and then you will have them delivered directly to us (we supply you with an address once you have completed the joining details). Once the goods have been received we will unbox and inspect the products. Once we have a have enough for a shipment then we will contact you to with what goods to create a shipment with. At this point we determine what prep the item will need ie poly bag, bubble wrap or just label application etc. Finally we pack the box, weigh it and then request the shipping labels from yourself. We book in the UPS service and ensure the goods are collected from our secure unit.

Who decides what prep is needed for my goods?

Ultimately Amazon and this will be identified to us during the shipment process. On some occasions we may advise that polybagging or bubblewrap might be suitable for a certain item. Not necessarily because Amazon require it but to protect the product from damage in the Amazon warehouse, we will usually contact you first but if it does need protection we will just go ahead and complete the prep on your behalf. PLEASE NOTE - We do polybag ALL plush/textile items as standard.

How will I know when my goods arrive with you?

You have a FBA worksheet that will be assigned to you upon joining Easy Prep UK. This is a live sheet which is stored on the cloud so you can access it anywhere you have an internet connection. Once you place an order with a store you will fill out the details of the goods you have purchased. Once your goods have arrived with us we will 'check in' your products and then mark on your sheet the date the goods arrived and in which quantity.

What happens if my goods arrive damaged from the retailer/wholesaler?

As experienced sellers ourselves we have extremely high standards when sending goods to Amazon. If goods arrive with us and they are damaged or unsuitable for sale we will inform you via your private communication channel which you will assigned when you join Easy Prep UK. You will then need to contact the retailer and arrange a return. If the retailer offers a collection service we will repackage the item and await the collection from our premises. Alternatively you can arrange a return through a courier who is able to collect from our address.

Message us that you would like to organise a return to the retailer/wholesaler, provide details of the items, we will then package into a box and provide the dimensions and weight of the box so you can organise a collection for your return. parcel2go, Hermes service is usually the cheapest option.

Who creates the shipment for Amazon?

Once you have enough for a shipment one of the Easy Prep team will update the "Create Shipment" tab in your FBA worksheet and message you on your private messenger channel. You will then create the shipment and send us the product labels and update the "shipment QC" tab. Once your products are prepped and labeled we will provide you with box weights of your shipment so you can complete your shipment and send us the UPS labels ready for shipping.

Do you need access to my Amazon Seller Central account?

For a standard membership we do not need access to your Amazon seller account.

What happens if my goods don't arrive?

If items have not arrived in the timeframe you expect it is best to keep an eye on your worksheet to see if the items have been checked in but if your items still have not arrived (usually around 10 working days) We would advise contacting the store or wholesaler. If items are not checked in with a quantity and date on your worksheet this means they have not arrived yet.

Our aim is to check-in your goods by the end of each day they arrived but please note if they arrive after 4pm or it is extremely busy as in Q4 this could roll over to the next morning.

How long before my goods are shipped to Amazon after they arrive with you?

Once you have enough for a shipment (A full box or at 15kg) your goods will be shipped no later than 48 hours as long as all required information has been received. If you would like your goods to go before you have a full box please message us and we will send.

We require FNSKU (product) labels and your Shipment QC to be updated before we can start work on packaging your items.

Is there a waiting list to join?

It will all depend on the time of year. We generally have a waiting list to join the service in Q4 and we will limit our members during this busy time to ensure that we will manage our members expectations efficiently.

What is the cost to join?

Please see Pricing page (link at the top of the page) and for an information pack please fill in the form at the bottom of the home page. Alternatively please email us on info@easyprepuk.co.uk

Why do you charge a monthly membership fee?

At Easy Prep UK we want to ensure that our members receive the highest level of customer service possible. By charging a membership we can be aware of how many members we are servicing at any one time. By knowing this we can ensure that have the right amount of staff to service those members and make sure that we do not get overwhelmed by an influx of members that only use prep services during busy periods like Q4.

Is there a minimum amount of units I can send to Easy Prep per month?

No, we do not have a minimum order.

Do you reuse the boxes my purchases will come in?

If possible we will but as of 2019 Amazon FBA are very strict on dimensions and weights so unless it is a small shipment 90% of the time we will use one of our new stock boxes which are close to the maximum size allowed by Amazon for FBA and are very strong.

How much does it cost to send the goods to Amazon?

Amazon will charge this through your Amazon seller central account. All goods are shipped via UPS  partner program and the charges are generally around £5 upto a 15kg box or £4 per box if sending multiples of 3. You will get a shipping cost before completing your shipment inside Amazon Seller Central. (correct as of September 2019)

Amazon FBA returns?

You can use your address at the Prep Centre for Amazon FBA returns. We can then consolidate the returns and provide box dimensions and weight so you can organise a collection to have them sent to your home/business address or we can dispose of FBA Returns if you wish.

Just add FBA returns to your FBA worksheet as you would a normal order "Clearly marked FBA RETURN' so they can be checked in and temporarily stored.

This is an additional service which is chargeable.

Do I have to live in the UK to use your service?

No. One on the best things about running an Amazon Arbitrage businesses is you can run it from anywhere in the world. You just buy the goods and send them here to us and we will send them to Amazon on your behalf. Depending on which country you live in you will need to register for UK VAT however we advise that you consult a UK Accountant to clarify your exact position.

As you are sellers yourself on Amazon, how do I know you will not steal our deals?

Whilst some Prep Centres may not feel comfortable being asked this question we believe it's an absolutely fair question and one that should be answered. We have been Amazon sellers for four years now and over those four years we have probably seen most deals and retailers who are good for OA. Of course there will always be deals/purchases which we may come across that are the same as our members however we do 100% have our own sources for identifying potential profitable goods. We do find however that being experienced sellers actually can work in our members favour on occasion we can often spot a wrong ASIN or if there might be a better listing etc to sell on. This of course is not a guaranteed service just something we will get in touch with if we feel it could be in your favour.

Should I use a Prep Centre if I am just starting out?

It will always come down to personal choice and how much space and spare time you have on your hands and how busy your life is? Amazon OA is one of the most easiest businesses to outsource and prepping can be a long and frustrating part of the process, if you are not outsourcing you have another job.

Do you accept pallets?

Yes we do but unfortunately we do not have a forklift truck so deliveries will need to be made up to our warehouse doors. There is a £5 Pallet removal fee for each pallet received.

Is there a maximum amount of units I can send to Easy Prep per month?

No. However if you are looking to send over 500 units per month please get in touch to discuss  your needs.

Do you offer a Bundling or Multi-Packs service?

Yes we do! Just order your goods and send them to us as normal, there is a field on your product inbound sheet where you will need to indicate the goods received are to be bundled.
